About

Keahole Solar Power, LLC. was founded in 2007 as a spin-off of Sopogy, Inc. a technology provider of MicroCSP solar concentrating panels.

KSP is focused on the solutions and technologies to enable utility scaled solar farms. This includes energy storage, controls to connect the solar farm to the electrical grid and software to manage the system.

Developing the complete power solution is the answer to help Hawaii become truly free from fossil fuel and energy independent. KSP’s team focused on developing unique thermal energy storage for moving solar energy generated into the evening and figuring out how to build solar farms with Hawaii’s contractors within Hawaii’s unique permitting conditions.

KSP is focused on helping Hawaii achieve its Clean Energy Initiative by developing solar farms which reduce the use of fossil fuels and improve Hawaii’s energy security. Our projects and technologies create jobs, reinvigorate lands left abandoned for decades from our former sugar cane industry and protect Hawaii’s future for generations to come.

We are a private company with our principal funding to date provided by venture capital and corporation investors.

Our Green Goal: 30 MWe by 2015

Hawaii requires real energy solutions to achieve energy independence and break its bonds to imported fossil fuels. With small island loads and unique electrical energy grids, every island has different and unique set of challenges. KSP’s proprietary solar farming solutions bring reliable green energy to the utility grid while providing power when the island residents need the power. We are working to bring our solutions to every major Island.
